Fantastic location and very kind and sympathic host Chanaka. This is a pleasure to stay so close with the nature, practically in the jungle. Chanaka also was the great tourist guide (you can go to Sinharaja Forest with him!) with an amazing "eagle" eye to rare animals. We have an incredible opportunities to saw an frogmouth owl, which is not frequent and easy to meet especially in the daytime. Also the waterfall at the end of the journey in forest is just wonderful, clean and refreshing water after an few hour was just perfect. We also had an ocassion to tried traditional delicacies with whole fantastic and kind family, because Chanaka invite us to him house and they are lovely, very hospitality, give us an amazing local food and drink like Toddy, honey and jaggery chickal tree (i hope so i’ve good notice this name). It was an excitement experience which i totally recommend for everyone, especially with Chanaka as an tourist guide, because he perfectly knows the area he loves so he really give you a heart for your whole stay!

The location is idyllic, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty—it truly feels like stepping into a peaceful oasis. The rice and curry were delicious, with generous portions. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and was invited to swim in the river. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to everything I needed. A truly wonderful experience!

Very comfortable stay. Spacious and clean rooms with all amenities. Premises maintained well by the very obliging caretaker Jayasinghe, who's cooking was delicious. Quite a large pool which was clean and very inviting. Overall great value for money.

We stayed here for two nights, doing a guided tour in between. It was a super good stay. Usually, the owner himself does the guided tour. In our case, he was already booked, so his father guided us. He was a great guide, with a lot of love for the forest and a lot of knowledge after guiding people around for already over 20 years. After the tour, we had delicious food, served at the new guesthouse of the owners brother (Wildlife Kingdom, we did not sleep there but it looked also very comfortable with a great view). All other meals were also prepared by the owners wife, and after spending two weeks in Sri Lanka we can say that that was the best food we have had so far! We stayed on the top floor, which was very comfortable. Of course, being close to nature means there will be insects, so be prepared for that ;) Thank you for hosting us!

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay in the Sri Lankan rainforest. The host and his whole family were incredibly kind and helpful, and they made us feel very welcome. The homemade food was delicious and freshly prepared every day. Our room was spacious and clean. The rainforest tour was a highlight – we learned and saw so much, and the guides passion and knowledge made the experience truly unforgettable. We can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and warm experience in Sri Lanka.

The hotel is literally located at the edge of the forest which makes it a bit tricky to reach, but with the free shuttle it’s easy. Moreover the location is perfect to start forest trips directly from there. The room was really clean with a spacious bathroom and the food (especially the breakfast) was good. A special remark is to make about the hosts. They carry a really warm energy and are super kind!

We've accommodated in hotel sanctuary last week. It was very clean and attractive.The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and well organized.The pool area was fantastic, to have fun.The hotel keeper was very friendly and helpful.The hotel owner was the same. The meals were really delicious.We could enjoy the scenic beauty of rakwana mountains right from the hotel.That accomodation package was very reasonable for the payed price.I recommend this place for people, who are expecting a perfect stay near Rakwana.
