A short cab ride to and from Coimbra-B, this guesthouse—once an actual pharmacy—is the most enchanting place I have ever stayed. The decor retains some of the old medical equipment, adding to its unique charm. The building has a lift, the room was impeccably clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were exceptionally friendly and polite. Special thanks to Juan, who took the initiative to help me call a cab upon my departure. His kindness made my stay even more memorable!

This was truly an exceptional stay. The guesthouse is beautiful and has a very interesting history. It is the former house of the owner's great-grandparents, who were rice farmers. Now it is a stunning property with a pool, beautiful garden and farm with fruit trees and chickens (that provide the eggs for breakfast). Luiz is incredibly kind and welcoming, as is the rest of the staff. The house itself is really beautiful, it's a historical building, but very tastefully modernized, so that it is as comfortable as any luxury hotel, but much more interesting and charming. The kitchen is incredibly cozy, there's a woodburning oven, a fridge with local beers and wines, as well as fresh fruit from the garden and (insanely good) freshly baked cake. The room really was like a luxury hotel room, very comfortable mattress, huge bathroom with a new shower, etc. Breakfast was delicious and included many products from the farm, like eggs, jams, juice, etc. The house is located outside Coimbra, but only a five minute drive away from the city centre, which I actually preferred, because at night it was quiet and calm (and much easier to find parking than in the old city). I stayed for one night and while you really only need one day to see the major sights in Coimbra, next time I would stay for a few extra days to relax in the guesthouse and explore the area more.

This property is so nice, such a lovely building and well refurbished. The furniture is stylish, the room is modern, clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Coimbra. It is also very well located, close to the university and a short ride to the train station.

We arrived a little earlier and the hotel personal was kind enough to keep our baggage, so we could start exploring this beautiful town. We booked the room for three people, but Catherine was so kind that she offered us a room with more privacy (a big big thank for that!) and provided a wonderful welcoming. The room was great, very clean and had everything one needed despite its size. Since i was travelling alone it was perfect, right in the city center 2-10' away from every main attraction of coimbra. 3 ' away from the main square near the river also. I would like to share the experience i had with the host, since i was in coimbra during the power shut down. As soon as she could contact me, she went by the house and left some canned food, supplies and also homemade soup. It was a very touching move and i felt at home.

Location is absolutely gorgeous. Coimbra is split into two sides by the river, the busy side with the university and the quaint residential side, and this flat is on the residential side. The location is as scenic as it gets - but expect a VERY uphill walk to get there!
