The hostess is very communicative, Gloria makes your stay pleasant due to the tours and advices she offers, the tours were guided by her husband, Sergio who speaks English as well, has lots of knowledge and the fact that you were in a private tour and transported from the Cabins to the tour and viceversa. Situated in Puerto Viejo and only less than 1 km from Negra Beach, Kalawala features accommodation with city views, free WiFi and free private parking. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. It is possible for guests to sit outside and enjoy the property grounds. We loved the closeness to town and the bakery, as well as the discount at the bakery. It was a very cozy spot and the bedrooms were great and very comfortable.

The hosts are super welcoming, taking their time to show you around and help spot the animals (sloths, toucans, lizards etc). The pool is also very nice as well as the beach just across the street - it has shade, more sloths and feels safe for kids. We would have happily spent more time there!

Contemporary comfort, style, security, wonderful service, delicious food, calm atmosphere, beautiful hammock strewn palm grove right on the ocean, with waves rolling in on your doorstep. We loved our stay here, and we felt like at home. The staff is always here looking to help you and make your stay memorable, they were so generous, humble and friendly ! Near to the bus station, the natural park and a lot of coffee, restaurants. The room was clean, the kitchen well-equipped and spacious, and the common areas were cozy and comfortable. We appreciated also the company of the 2 doggies and each details (free coffee in the morning, lovely cleaning lady every day, access to the pool and some board game and books available)
