A recently renovated property, 峠のお宿 巧の実家 Magome Guest House, Along the Nakasendo Trail is situated in Nakatsugawa near Magome Observatory, Magome Wakihonjin Museum and Toson Memorial Museum. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is set 5.4 km from Otsumago. The house is spacious, very clean, very comfortable, and located in a beautiful, silent place outside Magome-juku. A stay there was really relaxing. And I have noticed some people on trail, pasing by the house, and loudly admiring how nice it is. The hosts say they do not offer breakfasts, but it is a kind of a lie! There is absolutely enough food provided, to have a very good breakfast. And talking about the hosts - they are amazing, so helpful and welcoming, like I have never seen before. Their invaluable help and advices allowed us to visit every place in the nearest region that we planned to, despite the unfavorable weather.

Even though it's a bit of a walk to the main gondola, the staff provided us with a ride every morning. Coming back home for the day it's only a few minutes from the slopes. Would certainly stay here again.

This was such an unforgettable experience. We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS.
