It is 26 km to Sihanoukville. Since it was Chinese New Year everything was completely booked out and I could only get the wooden bungalow, even though I much prefered a concrete one. But also the wooden bungalow is very nice. It's extremely clean, fans are strong, water pressure is great and the bed very comfy. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Friend of Nature Bungalow is a recently renovated guest house in Koh Rong Island, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a water park. The accommodation features a business centre, room service and currency exchange for guests. The host, Johnny, was extremely helpful. He arranged for us to be picked up from the pier and then driven back there for our return trip. He also borrowed us a kayak and snorkeling masks for free. The experience was unique, just staying with the local people in the village on the river. Very basic, but everything you need. The place is 45 mins walking distance to Lonely Beach, but there is also a local beach, Palm Beach, close by, and we recommend that one, as hardly anyone visits it. There are many good food options around, as well as shops. There is also a cooking stove on the porch, and unlimited potable water.

The guest house has a picnic area where you can spend a day out in the open. The location of the bungalow was great, in easy reach of restaurant and the piers. The best of our stay were the pavilions with available hammocks overlooking the sea and bay in front of the bungalows. Johny was a great help during our stay and welcomed us with a cold drink. He also organised a scooter and an amazing boat tour. A water tank is provided which is very much appreciated.

Located 200 metres from M’Pai Bay Beach, Sam's Guesthouse M'Pai Bay offers accommodation with a terrace, as well as a garden and a bar. It is set less than 1 km from M’Pai Bay Wild Beach and provides bicycle parking. It is possible for guests to sit outside and enjoy the property grounds. It's a new guesthouse and very clean with really nice en-suite room. Really nice after travelling in hostels for so long. Very close to the beach and shops/restaurants. Sam was a great host and had many recommendations for the best places to eat and knew everything there was to know about things to do. (Thanks again for the poker games too!!). She even helped us book our onwards travel. The dog is very funny, we had a great night with him singing for us! Thanks again, we would highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

Accessible via private entrance, all units have air conditioning, soundproofing, desk and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. A balcony with an outdoor dining area and garden views is offered in every unit. At the guest house, the units are equipped with bed linen and towels. Really friendly owners, spotlessly clean room and a really comfortable bed. Just a shame we could only stay 1 night.

Guests at Dragonfly Guesthouse M'Pai Bay will be able to enjoy activities in and around Koh Rong Sanloem, like hiking. I extended my 3-night stay by another night here. Honestly, you could easily stay for at least a month. Tasha and Kirsten’s hospitality, the location being a paradise, the wooden house I stayed in, and its incredible comfort all made me feel right at home. The place has a plant-based kitchen, and they’re currently experimenting with new flavors. My favorite was the Scrambled Tofu Wrap! It was amazing—I practically licked my fingers. The bar’s cocktails are also excellent. You can watch the landscape from the bar through the sea and the trees! This is a perfect spot for vegan and vegetarian friends to stay at a very reasonable price while enjoying the peace of the island. There are also some small animal friends like cats and dogs around. In the evenings, there’s even a larger lizard buddy who walks along the upper beams of the bar, looking around. This place is truly wonderful—definitely visit!

Really recommend this place nice and quiet but very cute and lit up well x

I highly recommend staying at Seashell when staying in M’pai Bay! The location is perfect, close to restaurants and the ferry. Short easy walk to the big beautiful beach near town. I loved that they organize activities each day like game night or bonfire on the beach to bring everyone together and socialize. Also recommend eating at the Cambodian Kitchen behind the hostel, bonus they’ll even deliver lunch or dinner to the hostel!
