We came across Wanakaset accidentally and fitted it into our already tight schedule, so we could only stay for one night, which is a shame. We would have liked to stay at least one more night to see more of the estate, especially as we had the “Apple room”, which is the big room at the front side of the building with the best view. We very much enjoyed this unusual accommodation, the fantastic views and the fireflies at night. The bed was the most comfy we had in Sri Lanka and despite our concerns we had no problems with mosquitos. Also we had our own (but not ensuite) bathroom, which we did not expect. Maybe because Wanakaset was not fully booked.

Everything is likable there .. location was away from the hustle.. surrounded by flora and fauna.. Gigantic rooms with the utmost clean and tidiness .. Wide balcony where you can just sit and chill.. From your bed you can see elephants roaming in their enclosure .. Hosts' hospitality is worth mentioning .. and last but not the least 'Home cooked breakfast was mouth watering'.. Highly recommended ...!!!

Great value, big room, good location, near small town with shops. Good Wi-Fi. Nice view of forest out the balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff, took us for a ride in the tuk tuk free of charge. Went rafting and canyoning for a very reasonable price of R 7,500 each. Great experience.

Great value for money. Big Cleen room and a big deck that we could use. Free cold and hot water, and a good breakfast. The host helped us in every single way possible. Drove us around in his tuk tuk. He also arranged an amazing rating, canyoning trip.

One of our favourite places in Sri Lanka. On the road to Kandy lies a perfect little place with great facilities. The food is amazing (we also got some extra, fresh jackfruit during the afternoon), the staff is very friendly, the bed is great, shower lovely, the Wifi quick, communication swift, and it's affordable.
