It was a beautiful welcome! We were offered tea from their cinnamon plantation! The house over looks rice plantations, such a beautiful scenery to wake up to! They arranged our dinner, arranged our safari with a very good guide which we had the chance to see almost all animals in the national park. They prepared our breakfast for the safari as well! Clean spacious rooms with pressurised hot water! Couldn’t ask for anything better!

An amazing property and family. The room was huge and spacious with fan and AC and the bathroom was big. The whole property was very clean and tidy. The owner, his wife and daughter were lovely and made us so welcome. The daughters English is fantastic and she loves to practice it with you. This has to be the best place we stayed in 16 days in Sri Lanka. If you are doing a safari to Yala then this place is so close to the entrance (closer thank Tisso) and the owner can organise a jeep at a very good price. The owners wife even allowed me to watch and help her cook our dinner in her kitchen. The food was amazing. We would definitely recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, the place was friendly and we had a great time. Great communication between Sam’s place and us before we travelled ensuring all our needs were met when we arrived. They were very helpful and provided us with information and recommendations for things to do in the area. I would recommend and we will be booking again soon. Thank you Sam!

Super friendly staff, cooked us dinner and breakfast, and let us help out in the kitchen. Good location in Bibile, a little oasis. Rooms were clean and comfy. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a lovely stay here! The staff was absolutely welcoming and the room was very comfortable. We were greeted with a warm cup of tea, it was wonderful :) Their large garden is a great space to chill, and they also have a book exchange! Thank you :)

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need! After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏 First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was! He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel. On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️ Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

The owner, Michael is an exceptionally fine host. His only motivation is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. This is our 10th year in SL and we have had few meals as skilfully prepared. Just tell him what you like to eat and he'll oblige. The countryside here is amazing and quiet although only 2.5km from the town centre. On top of all this, his prices for food and drink are exceptionally fair. Highly recommend.

I would give 6 stars if I could! Clean guest house with great location for both Kataragama town and Yala. Both owner and staff are friendly, arranging safari tour (which was cheaper than other places), tuktuks as well as helping me get a bus home. Nothing was too small to ask and the owner went above and beyond. Incredible value for money.
