A wonderful place to chill! The rooms look well cared for and neat. Sanitary facilities are clean and a lovely bed with a good mattress. Vajjeesh is a great host and enjoys making others happy with his service. The food is freshly prepared with attention and love by the family, which tastes delicious and also looks beautiful. The accomodation was super cozy and clean. And Anand was the best host! He organized everything perfectly for us - from cheap kayak rental to sunrise boat tours - and he took us to a temple festival and on a bicycle tour around the island - it was simply lovely! And his amazing mum prepared the most delicious food for us (her egg curry was the best!) :) We didn’t feel like customers but friends during our stay, would always come back!

We had the most wonderful stay at Kailasam Homestay, hosted by the lovely family of Kala, Akhil, Roshni, and their adorable son Aayansh. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The location is perfect—peaceful, scenic, and truly allows you to unwind. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. But what made our stay truly special was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. Kala's cooking was exceptional—every meal was a delight, full of authentic Kerala flavors. Beyond just providing a great stay, they went above and beyond for us. When I had a minor flu, they kindly took me to the hospital, which I truly appreciated. They also arranged all our activities seamlessly and ensured our pick-up and drop-off from the nearest station were taken care of. All in all, this was the best time we had in Kerala, and we can't recommend this homestay enough. If you're looking for a place that offers comfort, great food, and amazing hosts, this is the one! We’ll definitely be back!!

The host family are incredible. Welcoming, caring, kind souls. The river right in front is beautiful, also for swimming. The rooms and Bungalows are spotlessly clean and cared for. The homemade food is superb, I enjoyed it very much. I was sad to leave and will def go back. Thank you for everything :)

What a lovely family and stay. It may have been our favorite part of our week long stay in Kerala. Munroe Island allowed us to get away from the busy tourist traffic and enjoy the tranquil side of Kerala through its backwater. Vishnu and his family have created a little oasis on their property. You really don't need to do anything other than sit on the front porch and watch the peaceful day pass. Their family provided all the meals, cold beer, and even took us out on the backwaters for a sunrise tour (we were not provided the prices for the extra services in advance, but everything was reasonable. Just make sure to have extra cash). Basically we showed up and didn't have to do any planning, just relaxed and enjoyed. We spent our time walking around the quiet island, kayaking, and sitting on our idyllic front porch. The accommodations were basic, but we did not have to use the mosquito net over our bed, the fan was amazing, and the room was clean. This place is a hidden gem. It's the best way to experience the Kerala backwaters.
