The property was extremely clean and I felt right at home from the beginning. It had all the amenities you could ask for, and was in a very safe and secure area. The hosts were so kind, I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. I came to this hotel looking for a few days of rest, and they went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to recover well. I will definitely be back here again, and highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

Great place. Oscar and his family was brilliant and went over and above to make my stay perfect. I am bike touring and they helped me with a couple of things while fixing my bike. Me and Oscar rode to Chan Chan where he is a guide and he gave a great tour in English. Highly recommended.

The room is enormous with 4 double beds, 2 large windows and a private bathroom. Nicely decorated with beautiful paintings, much nicer than the photos.The kitchen has everything you need, and the lady there is very kind and helpful. The owner is very attentive to any messages. The rooftop terrace has spectacul sunsets over the sea, and you even have sea views from your room. The WiFi is excellent and the beach is just 4 blocks away. There's a shop around the corner that sells everything including fresh meat. The price was more than reasonable. I was so sad to leave this place, but I definitely plan to be back for a longer stay.

We loved our stay at Hostal Donde Alberto. If you venture to northern Peru to see the impressive ruins around Trujillo, we recommend staying here. Felipe & his wife Elisabet, are very friendly & caring. Felipe was very helpful in answering questions before we left Australia & during our stay. After a long overnight bus journey the refreshing hot drinks on arrival were the perfect welcoming touch. The bedroom was a good size & the bed comfortable. There was fan in case it was too warm, & a large wardrobe. Although separate, the bathroom was just opposite our room & private, not to mention large. Hot water was always available as there was an instantaneous system. Hooks in the bathroom are often rare when travelling so we were pleased to see them here! We liked the location because it was a little out of the central madness but it was only a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas. There’s a little supermarket on the corner (just a 30 second walk away). It has a cafe that serves paninis, etc & there’s cheese, ham, bread, etc, if you want to make your own. We felt very safe & secure - probably the most we’ve ever felt travelling - as there are very good security features & you get a key to open the front gate, so you won’t get locked out. Felipe feels more like a friend than just an owner & we definitely recommend staying here.

The lady at reception was very friendly, kind and helpful. We received lots of helpful information ahead of time on WhatsApp and clear instructions for check-in etc. The breakfast was nice and they accommodated our vegetarian diet. They even gave us some hot water in a flask for any tea/coffee overnight. The staff really went the extra mile.
