The accommodation is great! It is located in the middle of the family's beautiful tea fields. The hiking trails into the bamboo forests start right outside the accommodation, and there is also a viewpoint for watching the sunset very close by. The family was so loving and friendly, we felt so comfortable. Transportation to Alishan National Park for sunrise was organized, and we were taken to Fenqihu for hiking. The family even took their time one afternoon to drink their homemade Oolong Tea with us. Additionally we got a free room upgrade. And the restaurant in town was fantastic. The relaxing stay was clearly one of our highlights of our three-week trip through Taiwan. After visiting Alishan NP as well we would always prefer Shizhao's tea fields.

The property’s design is great, the photos here don’t do it justice. For sure it would have been easier by car, but we found it quite easily even traveling by bus. My only regret is that we stayed only one night. Eryanping trail is walking distance. You need to organise for dinner if you’re on foot because there isn’t much in the area, but the host is super friendly and welcoming and helpful. Also: by far the best breakfast we had during our 20 day trip in Taiwan. I’m gluten intolerant and this was an issue for many hosts, but she made us a super tasty congee that was just perfect. I will definitely recommend this spot to others traveling in Taiwan!

The family at the tea farm were so friendly and welcoming, and we had the best food here in our whole trip to Taiwan. It is only 15 minutes drive from the forest railway and there were lots of hiking trails nearby. The room was basic but fine, with a large shared lounge area. we were there when the weather was cold and there was a heater we could use.
