The restaurant serves traditional Austrian and Carinthian cuisine. We were pleasantly surprised how well the property was maintained and managed. Food was amazing and make sure to try their sauna. Lovely and warm rooms. Skibus was right outside the property which was super convenient and took about 20 mins max to go up to Katschberg. We really enjoyed our stay here.

I had my birthday during our stay and the hostess gave me small gifts and a special breakfast with birthday decorations. If you take a short walk, you find yourself in a fairytale surrounded by mountains. We'll definitely be coming back to see Abtenau in summer colors too💛

The family that owns and operates this recently renovated property welcomed us with open arms and took very good care of us. Our room was very comfortable. The shower was great. Balcony views incredible. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Carinthia, mostly locally sourced fresh products. Good coffee, good eggs. We are hiking Alpe Adria trail and this has been one of our favorite stays. Thanks for hosting us! I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone walking Alpe Adria or touring my car in the area.

We had a very warm welcome when we arrived and had a very lovely apartment with everything we could need. The breakfast was good and plentiful and would have had something for every taste. Staff were friendly and the rooms were cleaned spotlessly by the time we returned from Breakfast each day. Location wise the hotel is right next to the main walking areas in Obergurgl so access was very easy.
