But the highlight of our trip was the host, who was super nice, friendly and helpful. He did not speak English, but we spoke a bit of Chinese and used a translator. It was our best experience in China so far and if we ever come back to Zhangjiajie, we will come to this hotel. P.s. A recently renovated homestay situated in Fenghuang, Fenghuang Ancient Town Lazy Cat Riverside Inn features a terrace. With mountain views, this accommodation offers a balcony. The homestay features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Really nice hosts, they helped us a lot, offered advice on how to see the town best and were just really generally nice and helpful. The room is in a really nice looking location so it's a great base from which to see the town or just chill on the balcony. The provided ginger candys, toohbrush and tea which was also a bonus. When we were leaving the helped us with our bags and called a local taxi for us, since there aren't that many Didis in this town

Do not attempt to the place on your own as we did :) The owner offers to wait for you at the bus stop/taxi stop and accompany you to the hotel, which is only a couple of minutes away.

Had an excellent time during my stay. The rooms were very clean and modern. Staff is also friendly and helpful, as they provided me explanation on how to make my way through Tianmenshan and Zhangjiajie National Park (Avatar Mountains) and I was picked up and dropped of at the airport. They also provided delicious food. The location is ideal, as it’s close to both the airport and Tianmenshan. Would definitely stay here again. Great place to stay in Wulingyuan, close to the main park and the gran canyon. Rebecca was very helpful, she explained me how the park works and helped me to book the tickets in advance.
