It is located in a private area in a lava field and is surrounded by low trees. It has a large common living room with an open kitchen. The living room had large glass openings and we could see the trees. It also has a very large balcony with a table and chairs to enjoy nature. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything we needed to make a full breakfast (eggs, oil, butter, jams, milk, etc.) The room was clean and comfortable. The host was cheerful and gave us information about the area. Lake Myvatn, the baths and the other attractions are very beautiful and worth the stay. Unfortunately when we went the Grjotagia cave was closed, but we were compensated by the other attractions.

My partner and I stayed at Elda guesthouse in early June for just over a week and absolutely loved it. It suited us really well with it being good value for money and very close to the Myvatn lake (great if you're a keen wildlife photographer like my boyfriend or enjoy a long cycle/run like myself!) The staff were really friendly and helpful, working hard to prepare delicious breakfasts (including salads, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, croissants, pastries, bread etc) and keep the place clean and tidy. All the staff were so kind to us, for example preparing a little breakfast the night before our early morning flight for us. In terms of other amenities, the guesthouse had everything you need for self catering with an oven, fridge and cooking facilities. There is also a supermarket just a couple minutes walk away and a hotel just down the road where we sometimes went to enjoy an evening drink and a game of chess! I also hired a bike one day. Overall, we would highly recommend this place for people with similar interests and values to us :)

Este establecimiento está situado junto al lago Mývatn y ofrece habitaciones sencillas con baño compartido. I like the location close to all the places of attraction. Within driving mins I am there. Very convenient.

Quietly located 5 km from Iceland's Ring Road and 13 km from Lake Mývatn, this family-run guest house offers views over Sandfell Mountain. El mejor lugar en donde nos hospedamos durante nuestro viaje en Islandia, la atención es excelente, desde que llegamos nos hicieron sentir como en casa. La tina tiene una vista muy linda, el desayuno es completo y las duchas/baños estuvieron limpios todo el tiempo. En la primera noche pudimos ver las auroras boreales.

El Hlid Hostel ofrece habitaciones y casas de campo y se encuentra en Reykjahlíd, a 500 metros del lago Mývatn. El aparcamiento y la conexión WiFi son gratuitos. Limpio, cómodo, bien ubicado, lindo entorno. Buen servicio.
