We stayed at Drangar for one night after a short Snæfellsnes tour and what was meant to be a simple stop turned into the main feature of our tour. This old farmhouse has been transformed into an up-to-date guesthouse/ hotel by award winning architects and it is located on a hillside above the ocean with amazing views on the islands of Drangar “bay” and a small internal beach. Both breakfast/ common rooms have views to this great landascape and the hiking trails will allow you to hike and relax by the sea and on the hills away from mass tourism. I loved our room, its interior design with everything we could possibly need (including well-known brands or handmade articles), the great bed and sitting area, the kitchenette which would have allowed us to cook there, had we stayed longer, and the squeaky clean bathroom. The overall cleanliness and tidiness of the room and common areas were impressive, I couldn’t find one particle of dust anywhere!!! It was clear much of this had to do with the personal involvement of the hotel managers who were present at breakfast time, talking with the guests and offering hand-made bread and delicious marmelades and of course a full buffet with everything you might wish for. I loved staying at Drangar so much, that I am already planning a trip of more days there, in order to enjoy pure icelandic nature in a film-worthy farmhouse, feeling free and independent from anyone and avoiding crowded places on a tour in Iceland. This place is not just a hotel, it is also a concept, very icelandic and very feel-good!

We loved this property downstairs felt like home with plenty of space. We were there with one other family and really enjoyed interacting with them. The view, kitchen and washing machines were excellent. Check in was efficient and communication with the hosts was easy.

The house owner was a very helpful and nice person. She is very kind. I feel like she wants to talk to people and treat them well. The facilities are very high compared with price.

The place is a part of the Helgafell, which is a mountain top with significance in the Norse mythology. The house is neat and clean with very helpful owner. The highlight is definitely Morley, the host's dog who is so friendly that he not only visited us during the night and morning but actually accompanied us,together with another black Labrador, when we hiked the Helgafell hill. All these made a very special and warm stay.

Αυτός ο οικογενειακά διοικούμενος ξενώνας βρίσκεται σε γραφική τοποθεσία στη χερσόνησο Snæfellsnes στη δυτική ακτή της Ισλανδίας και προσφέρει θέα στη γύρω φύση από όλα τα δωμάτια, καθώς και δωρεάν... This place is absolutely fabulous. We unfortunately had terrible weather when we arrived here, and were even stuck there for an extra day. We had to rebook an extra day and the staff was absolutely welcoming. Our addition day was arranged and they also helped us plan the next stretch of our drive because of the weather conditions. We were a big fan of the breakfast here: just amazing! On the second day, we also tried their elaborate dinner, which was no short of a WOW. My wife and the rest of the family who joined us are vegetarians and they too had plenty of admirable options. So all in all: we enjoyed the stay a lot! Had the weather been a bit supportive, we would have had enjoyed even more…
