The accommodation is right in the village and just a 5 min walking distance from the most beautiful sandy beach. You sleep in big tents, which have fans, mosquitoe nets and chargers. The staff is really nice and the island is beautiful. They say you should not expect a hotel stay which makes sense, but we thought it was so much more than that because it just feels like paradise. You have hammocks all around the property and areas to just sit and chill. You can rent bikes for the island and explore the nature and wildlife.

Allens home stay está en Jaffna, a 7 min a pie de Templo Nallur Kandaswamy y a 1,5 km de Jaffna Railway Station. Allen, as mentioned over and over in other reviews, is the best host EVER. This kind of people makes the difference when traveling like we do, where the main goal is to enjoy the culture and people, as much as the places we visit. Allen went way beyond expectations on helping us with whatever we may need (from train schedules, arranging a great driver for a day-long tour, giving us recommendations for local places, to taking his bike and buying us some cold beers after hours, or getting up to prepare us an unusually early morning breakfast to go, due to our very early schedule), overall making us feel like his true guests despite the commercial relationship. Well-travelled, Jaffna-native but with many years in Europe, Allen is the kind of person that you hope you have more time to get to know better, and that will remain as a highlight of any trip. The property is his own home, where you rent some rooms. It is a very quiet spot in a green and shady compound in a cul-de-sac, a great respite from some of the Jaffna frenzy. Located a quick 5-min. tuk-tuk ride from the train station, it is also near the main Hindu temple of the city, a couple of blocks away. The room we rented had its own exclusive bathroom, but crossing the living room. There was another room with a full private bathroom, not available at the time. The house has a quaint feeling, very cozy and clean. The AC in the room worked fine and it was very welcomed. Breakfast was great, abundant and tasty, prepared by Allen on the spot.

Perfect location just a few minutes from Jaffna town. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned. The staff were very welcoming and made my stay pleasant. They also served a delicious Jaffna-style breakfast. The manager personally picked me up from the railway station early in the morning and arranged an early check-in, which I really appreciated. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place!

They also do laundry, which was a god sent in a city with no laundrettes.

Malabar home stay está a 3,2 km de Templo Nallur Kandaswamy y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. La atención es muy buena. Y si quieres desayunar o cenar comida del lugar, ni lo dudes. Es deliciosa. En resumen, muy acogedor. Una familia encantadora.

Just the best. The rooms are spacious. The AC nice and cold plus the ceiling fan aids further in cooling the space down after a long day out in the Sri Lankan heat. the showers are quite exceptional by Sri Lankan standards (good pressure, hot water, and somewhat separated/divided from the rest of the bathroom). Bed was comfy and the room even had a desk and a place to hang clothes which were nice bonuses.
