The room was spotless, with a very well-thought-out layout that made it comfortable to spend time in. There were many useful amenities provided, which made our stay even more convenient. The host was truly attentive and responded quickly whenever we needed assistance. He is someone who works very hard for the comfort of his guests, and we really appreciated his warm hospitality. I would definitely love to book this place again on my next visit, and I would recommend it to both friends and family. I even felt that I could happily live here—it was that comfortable! Friendly staff in a beautiful house made it hostel! with outstanding surroundings. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen was clean, tidy and with all the necessary implements to cook. Also, lots of space in fridge and shelves for your food. The bathroom was nice too, hot shower, towel, body wash and clean! And the common areas is just beautiful, with lots of gameboards and a fire pit that should be amazing for cold winters. If I have the opportunity to comeback to Piha, I'll choose Piha backpackers to stay no matter what! Good job Piha Backpackers, wish you the best. :)

AND Wild Thyme was PERFECT in every way! The rooms were well-equipped and comfortable, and were spotlessly clean. The view from the terrace was breathtaking, while the place is located in a convenient area, shops and the beach of Onorea within walking distance. Most of all, Jules and Bruce were great hosts, being attentive and kind. It is all thanks to their welcome, my parents and I truly enjoyed an unforgettable vacation. Another BIG attraction is Jule's Wine Tour! The information is also written on the notebook provided in your room. I highly recommend it to anyone considering staying here. She asked us about our wine preferences in advance and came up with the Perfect plan. We visited Allpress Olive Groves, Tantalus, Man O'War+lunch, Waiheke Gin Distillery and Passage Rock. It may have been partly because it was winter and the wineries were quiet, but Jules arranged with the winery staff to grant our selfish request to try wines(bubbles!) that were not on the regular tasting menu! She even arranged for us to taste limited edition gin at the distillery. She took us to hard-to-reach places in the east and south of the island, such as ManO'War and Passage Rock, where we enjoyed not only the drinks but also the charms of the island as a whole. It's only been a week since I returned home, but I already feel a strong desire to go back.
