Hostels in Gjirokastër

Very lovely hostel with an amazing terrace overlooking the castle and the valley. Very comfy room, where each bed has a curtain for more privacy. Also it had a balcony with a great view of the castle as well. Clean bathroom and shower. Friendly owner. Perfect location just 5 minutes from the center. Super recommended!

I loved everything about this accommodation. The hosts are really kind & welcoming and their approach was lovely after weeks of traveling. The 4-bed dorm room was fantastic - with extra-long and very comfortable beds. Each bed is provided with a crisp, waffle cotton bathrobe, a large bath towel, a small bath towel, sheets, and a bath mat. Quilts are available too. The bathrobe was one of the many extra touches that made it really welcoming and homey. I was also offered grapes, and figs from their tree, on arrival. The breakfast was generous and delicious. On my return from sightseeing, I was also given a refreshing bowl of watermelon, figs and grapes. I was in the 4-bed dorm and it has a balcony with clothes rail. The air con worked really well, too. The dorm is really peaceful and quiet. The bathroom is clean, with a hairdryer and washing machine. There is also a lovely paved courtyard garden with tables and seats, where I had the generous and delicious breakfast. There is also a shared kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, kettle, toasted sandwich maker and pots, plates, cups etc if you wish to make a snack or dinner. The location is excellent. I was dropped off by bus from Tirana at 10pm and was easily able to walk to the hostel - there were only a couple of turns. Note: Google maps calls it the ‘Xarba Guest House’. The road is steep for the very last section to the hostel - but I felt this reduced the incline from the hostel up to the hilltop castle, the old market area and the two iconic old stone houses when I walked up. There are lots of restaurants in the old market area below the castle, so you could also easily eat there on the way back to the hostel after a day of sightseeing. It’s also a short walk to the well-stocked Star Supermarket from the hostel. If you come by bus, though, you could pick something up on the way.

Loved the location as its in the centre, allowing you to get the full experience. Also its very clean and comfortable it made me want to stay another night

Trigona was a great place to stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with access to the roof terrace via an easily managed window - it's an old building so this is understandable. The washroom is spotlessly clear and the shower units are quite spacious. I would highly recommend staying at the Trigona.

Best hostel ! Place is super fresh, comfy beds, modern kitchen, fast wifi, curtains and outlet by each bed and towels! Even breakfast included in the price! Place is totally new renovated and has just been open for couple of days and is very central! Less than 5 min yo public beach of Saranda The owners go out of their way to make the experience best possible and help you to assist with anything you may need!

It's good for a few nights, the staff is friendly, there's air conditioning, the room was clean and a beautiful view from the balcony!

Perfect small hostel! Around 30 beds, so it’s easy to meet people and form a fun group — not like those massive 300-bed hostels around Europe. Everything is clean and new; the showers and kitchen are awesome, and the bed gave me the best sleep I’ve had in months. Even though it says 18 beds in the room, you barely notice it! And you have breakfast for free. Location is on nice street and 1 block to the beach.

Clean and calm, helpful staff, nice view

The room and bathroom were large, clean and well equipped, plus the balcony was just outstanding: very spacious and with a good view. The staff was very nice and helpful, they even allowed us to have a late check out when we asked for it at the last minute. Will definitely visit again when we come back to Sarandë!
