Tony and his wife are wonderful hosts. They made me feel at home, just like a member of their family. Hanare is a simple, confortable, and very well located place to visit Kumano Kodo. Very close to the train station and emblematic temples.

The location is excellent and the owner was so nice! She supplies tons of snacks and teas in the house and even gave me bread and fruit. There's also peanut butter and jelly in the fridge so you can make yourself a sandwhich.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
