This was the most amazing place I’ve been to on my travels so far. Koalama felt like home, the place really has a personality and is not just an average hostel. The atmosphere is so nice, with the music changing every day and catching exactly the vibe of the guests. Delicious drinks, fun games, perfect chill out area and most importantly absolutely amazing, likeminded people! Thanks Fred, for making me feel so welcome and creating such a wonderful place. It is a very social place- I met so many awesome people during my stay, well designed for travellers, the whole set up and the design (with plenty of different lounges, hammocks, seats inside the establishment and outside directly on the beach)- beautiful and amazing honestly. This place is regularly cleaned, all day all night which is amazing to see. The location is purely spectacular. The staff are fantastic, good parties, good organised tours (had so much fun)...one of my best times is SEA so far. 100% would go back.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the space is absolutely beautiful. There is so much land and it goes all the way down to the beach so you can sunbath without other people getting in the way. They have the cutest, most well behaved pets too who always love a cuddle. We will definitely be coming back in the future

Everything. This hostel is the best I’ve been in my trip so far. The location is perfect, right by the beach, you can sit down and chill with your feet touching the sand. Matty (the owner) is such a lovely person, he gave me recommendations around the island and he made me feel so comfortable, we had very nice talks. I wish I could have stayed longer there, it was definitely the highlight of my trip.

The place is magical! Directly on the beach. You can see the sea from your bed and hear its wave at night gently put you to sleep. Liam and Perry were really welcoming, and made the place feel like home. The food was exceptionally great. Perry was so kind as to show me around the island, and we had lovely discussions around a game of chess. The place is cheerful, lighten up by the good vibes, the music, the dogs playing around. It’s one of the nicest experience I’ve had, and my only regret is that it was so short.
