DenmarkI stayed there for 2 nights. Did the Milford Sound cruise. The first night I shared the dorm with a guy, who was fairly silent and apparently part of a huge group stacked up somewhere else in the hostel. He didn't speak to me at all or maybe he couldn't speak English Idk. I did tried to speak to him but he didn't really reply. It felt kinda weird and uncomfortable.
So I didn't sleep much that first night.
The next night I shared the room with two other women and we went up to reception to ask of there was a fourth person coming and if it was a guy. Which it then turned it to be. They then changed it so he got booked to another room with another guy. So we'd have the room to ourselves. Very nice gesture of the receptionist although it was mixed dorms.
One of them snored terribly though, the one next to my bed, and so I didn't sleep well that night either.
So all in all the Hostel did a lot to try and ensure comfortability but you never know who you're gonna share the room with.
But it was one of the better hostels I've ever stayed in. Also compared to other places in Europe.

Great location- right in front of lake and close to shops and bird sanctuary . Real Nz close by .

Rooms- can be bit cold but otherwise clean and comfortable, toilets clean. Sometimes the water doesn’t drain well after a shower but very minor issue

Great location with a view of the lake. A good deal of effort has gone into creating a nice, comfortable space and the staff were just lovely. This is a backpackers and the facilities were really of a good standard with plenty of choices in the type of accommodation and price you want to pay. Perfect for a couple of days!

Lovely private room at a backpackers hostel right by the lakefront in Te Anau. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shared kitchen was convenient for preparing food. Walking distance to the main street restaurants, tours etc.

The backpackers is 90% of the way though being refurbished, and it’s looking great - much better than we were expecting. Comfortable bed, good facilities (kitchens, bbq, covered tables, etc). Tidy and well kept. Pleasant staff. Great location.

This backpackers is located 10 minutes drive from Te Anau. The cabins have stunning views of green pastures & mountain ranges. It is very peaceful & serene. The hostel is tidy & cosy.

We had a lovely stay. As a backpacker / hostel style place we were really pleasantly surprised by how lovely our private double room was - it felt like an upscale hotel room! We had a fantastic view of the lake whilst the room itself was incredibly spacious. It's also a great location, right in the centre and within easy walking distance of all the town's amenities.
