The cheerful greeting by the day staff was a tonic at the end of a long train ride down from Findhorn. I was settled in easily and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the living room and kitchen areas. The house is old, but quite well maintained, and the rooms are most comfortable. There was no provided breakfast, though there is a grocer across the street, and it opens early. Argyle is close to public transportation, so getting to central Edinburgh is easy.

The highest point in the hostel is its location: in the heart of the city centre and steps away from the main train station. I also appreciate when hostels offer private rooms, allowing more comfortable budget travelling for small groups while keeping the hostel experience.

First of all - the most prime location in the Edinburgh! Hostel basically located next to the Waverley station and iconic Balmoral Hotel! Staff were friendly, thanks to Andrew for very warm hospitality! Beds were clean, there’re lounge zone and kitchen area available. And probably you can find nothing cheaper in the Edinburgh, especially in this location!

Hostel has a great location right at The Royal Mile, so close to most attractions and to bus and train station. Personel is friendly and provides additional activities. They have towels inclided in price. It is a typical backpacker place with kitchen access. Place is not to big, but works fine for people on budget.

I stay here often usually when I get a late flight and can’t get home the same night. Good value for money, cheap stay. I think my last stay was only unpleasant because of inconsiderate people in my room but that’s the nature of hostels.
