Set in the heart of Donghai shopping area in Taichung, 1.5 km away from Luce Chapel, 框框背包客棧 Kuang Kuang Hostel boasts fittings and decorations in a student dormitory style. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in in Taiwan or anywhere else. Rooms and facilities were very clean and comfortable, building had character and charm. Location was convenient as we had to attend an event at the university nearby, and the staff were extremely helpful. Double room was also very affordable for the quality.

El Stray Birds Taichung Hostel se encuentra en Taichung. El Kuangsan SOGO Dept. Store y el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Taiwán están cerca. We arrived earlier than the check in time. We were advised to store our luggage there and come back to check in later. The staffs are friendly, ready to help and gave us good advice. 谢谢你们！ The room is spacious dan clean. Slippers are prepared so everyone help to take care of the cleanliness of the bedroom. The beds (double deck) are not too soft and very comfy for us who had a long journey. The bathrooms are sparkling clean. Hair dryer is available. Hot shower is something really great after a day of sightseeing in the city on foot. Breakfast is included. Though quite simple, taste good and very filling. The common area is very comfortable. We enjoyed our quiet and non-disturbed hours there. Hot beverage is available always. The location of the hostel is very strategic. Bus stops are in walking distance, found in all directions. Lots of eateries and shops around, old and new. Convenient shops such as 7-11, family mart and Watsons are just nearby. We even found the post office just next to the hostel. There is a night market nearby of which the stalls are run by various local artists (本地艺术家) displaying their own products. Good experience to explore and enjoyed ourselves. Washing machine and dryer are provided with the minimum charge. Very convenient for travellers.

Las camas eran cómodas. Había unos lockers en la habitación donde cabían las maletas, así que no había que estar esquivando maletas de la gente, como pasa en la mayoría de sitios. El personal era muy amable y tenían un perrito simpático (si te gustan los perros, perfecto). Los baños compartidos eran grandes y no tuve que esperar ningún día, aunque parecía que tampoco había mucha gente alojándose. En mi caso, no escuché el karaoke, que es de lo que se queja la mayoría de la gente, así que puede que dependa del sitio donde esté la habitación.
