We, Frederik and Stephanie live near Ghent. We love to get a breath of fresh air by the sea. When we saw this villa, we instantly fell in love. For us it is a second home by the sea, on a quiet historical site, close to the beach and the dunes. An instant holiday feeling. We love going for walks on the beach, going to the beach bars, getting fresh fish at the fish market or oyster pit. We like to have the same luxury and comfort when traveling as we do at home, to enjoy ourselves to the fullest. So we realized this in Aime by the Sea.
Aimé by the sea, is close to the sea and the dunes. You will stay on the site of the military hospital, where tranquillity is a virtue. The site of the military hospital has been completely renovated and is largely inhabited by permanent residents. It is very quiet, with no traffic, an instant holiday feeling. The site has a direct private passage through the dunes to the beach, which can only be used by residents. Nearby you will find Fort Napoleon, where you can soak up history. Oostoever is the other side of the city of Ostend, the side of the fishermen and the fish market. Here you can buy fresh, tasty fish. This part of the Belgian coast is great for surfing and other water sports. Within walking distance there is a Carrefour supermarket that is open every day (Sunday until 12:30) Ostend has many tasty restaurants, even some with Michelin stars. Our favourites in the area are: Storm, Marina, bistro Mathilde, Willem Hiele, bar Bristol, etc ... we will provide you with the full list a week before check-in. Ostend is the James Ensor city, in Mu.ZEE there are always very nice exhibitions. Street art is also very present in Ostend, follow the Crystal Ship street art route through the city. Oosteroever where Aimé is located by the sea part has no skyscrapers right on the beach, but dunes perfect for walking, cycling, surfing, ..... Enjoy. At Duin aan zee, there is a new children's playground. Nearby is Hangtime, an indoor trampoline park. Still fancy the hustle and bustle, culture, cinema.....? Then take the streetcar or ferry to Ostend. All other seaside resorts are also easily accessible with the nearby streetcar. Ostend is 10 minutes away by streetcar, Knokke 60 minutes. Bruges is 30 minutes away by car.
