A short 5 minute drive or 25 minutes walk takes you to the famous surf beach of Playa Hermosa where you can enjoy some of Costa Rica's best sunsets!

Playa Hermosa is a safe and quiet town nestled on the jungle mountainside a mere 5 minutes from Playa Hermosa Beach and Uvita town center. The neighbourhood is very small and consists of 1 elementary school, 2 churches, 2 restaurants and a beautiful blend of locals and expat homes. The town is growing but it is still small enough that everyone still knows everyone and the sense of community and care for each other is strong. Take a walk along our mountain roads for a nice workout and catch some amazing ocean views along the way. Monkeys and toucans frequent the trees in and around Casa el Amanecer so you will be sure to see some amazing wildlife during your stay! We recommend having a rental car when you stay in Playa Hermosa., as this area is not walking distance to town. It is best to be able to travel as you wish. There are taxis available to go to town for around 5000 Colones each way. There is also a local bus that you can catch at the entrance to Playa Hermosa along the highway.
