Akhet House is a bright and peaceful apartment with a private terrace overlooking the pharaonic landscape of Luxor’s West Bank. The neighborhood is very safe and full of local life, with a traditional bakery, small shops and a welcoming atmosphere. We are Ramadan and Delia, an Egyptian archaeologist and a Spanish Egyptologist who share a deep connection with Luxor and its history. After years working among temples, tombs and local communities, we gradually built Akhet House as a small personal project to offer a peaceful space from which to enjoy life on the West Bank Luxor. We are passionate about archaeology, ancient Egypt and cultural exchange. Hosting guests is meaningful to us because it allows us to share what we love most about Luxor, offer honest advice and help travelers feel supported and safe, especially those visiting Egypt for the first time. We currently live in Spain, so Mahmoud, Ramadan’s brother, is our co-host in Luxor. He welcomes guests in person, explains how everything works, helps with luggage and is available for anything they may need during their stay. We stay in touch from Spain to answer questions, suggest routes, arrange transport and share our personalized guide to the area. Our goal is for every guest at Akhet House to feel they have a calm, welcoming home with close support while exploring Luxor.

Akhet House is located in al-Bairat, a quiet and very safe neighborhood on Luxor’s West Bank. It is a truly local area with an authentic atmosphere, away from the busiest tourist spots yet perfectly placed for visiting the main archaeological sites. Within a short walk you can reach Medinet Habu, the Colossi of Memnon, the Temple of Ramesses II, the Deir el-Medina area and the routes leading to the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. The neighborhood has a traditional bakery, small shops, local cafés and a pharmacy, making daily needs easy to manage. In the morning you can watch the hot-air balloons crossing the sky, and in the evening the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed. It is an ideal area for travelers seeking tranquility, proximity to key monuments and an authentic environment surrounded by local families. Access is simple: the West Bank is just a short drive from the East Bank via the new bridge, and tuk-tuks and taxis are always available.
