Situated in one of the most sought after areas of the town and away from the holiday bustle we cater largely for couples who are looking for a restful break in lovely surroundings. Skerries is surrounded by pleasant gardens with ample parking and the accommodation was purpose built having a separate entrance for our guests, many of whom return regularly to us each year.

Janet and I have lived in Lyme Regis for the last thirty two years and have thoroughly enjoyed running the B and B during the last twelve years since retiring. We have met lots of very interesting people in that time, many of whom we now count as friends. Before retiring I was a teacher of Physics at the towns Woodroffe School and Janet a classroom assistant at Mrs Ethelston's Primary School. We have both been involved with many of the clubs, societies and goings on in the town including, sailing, armature dramatics, music and Baptist Church and have a reasonably good knowledge of the local history, geology and local area. We are therefore well equipped and pleased to answer any questions our guests may have.

Lyme Regis is located on the Jurassic Coast in a designated area of outstanding local beauty. The whole area is extremely attractive and relatively unspoilt. For walkers the South West Coastal Footpath is a must. With its rich history the town is particularly attractive and has retained its quaint charm without over commercialization. The sea front with its mix of properties and the Cobb Harbour dating back to 1200AD is a major attraction and whether you wish to learn to sail, go fishing, hire a Kayak, swim or just sit and watch, there is plenty to do and see. Fossil hunting is one of the big attractions of the area and the guided walks are to be recommended. Visitors frequently find ammonites and other fossils on the beaches and specialised shops sell them if you are not lucky. Numerous bars and restaurants are available to suit most pockets and River Cottage is just 2 miles away, Hicks Sea Food restaurant is in the gardens and Tierra Kitchen in Coombe St. Many local attractions are within a short drive including a number of Stately Homes, Beer Quarry Caves, the West Bay to Weymouth Coast Road, Seaton Tramway and Weymouth to mention just a few.
