Barbara & Bob Dalton
A very warm welcome to The Byre, the perfect place for a relaxing break and for exploring the beautiful county of Wiltshire. Located in the centre of Pewsey village, The Byre is a beautiful, newly renovated, self-contained two bedroom annexe of an 18th century thatched cottage on one level. It consists of a king bedroom, a small twin bedroom, a kitchen/diner/sitting room and a bathroom. It has been luxuriously fitted out with White Company and Mitre bed linen, towels, feather duvets and pillows, John Lewis beds and sofas and high quality new furniture. There is free Wi-Fi, a Smart television with Prime and Netflix, parking for one car and a small outside seating area with a table and chairs solely for guests. The accommodation is cosy and as neat as a pin.
The Owners: Barbara and Bob Dalton have been married for over forty years and decided to retire to Pewsey after 40+ years in London. They are very proud of their beautiful home and garden and offer a very warm welcome to their guests. Barbara is a classically trained musician so you might hear the (delightful!!) strains of music wafting around.
The village has a surprising number of amenities, all within a few minute’s walk of The Byre, including a swimming pool, a bakery, several supermarkets, a Post Office, a bank, three cafes, a Heritage Centre, a library, several playgrounds and some excellent public houses. Within a minutes walk, there is The Scotchel Nature Reserve and some delightful walks up to the Kennet & Avon Canal and Pewsey Wharf. The Pewsey Vale is an area of outstanding beauty and the hills provide many enjoyable walks and bridle paths. There are excellent transport links with buses outside the house, north to Marlborough and sAs well as a perfect base for walking, archaeology, cycling, riding, golf and fishing, The Byre is ideally situated for the following places of interest: Stonehenge and Avebury Stone Circles (World Heritage sites), Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum and the Medieval cities of Salisbury & Wilton Historic Market towns of Devizes, Pewsey, and Marlborough Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) Kennet & Avon Canal and the Caen Hill Locks Wilton Windmill & Crofton Pumping Station Longleat House Bath National Trust village of Lacock
