לא בנינו את הבקתות סביב ג'קוזי ענק במרכז, ואין כאן דשא לכדורגל ולא ברכת שחיה. השטח עליו בנויות הבקתות הוא מדרון תלול למדי ולקח לנו שלושים שנה לבנות טרסות מלמטה עד למעלה ובהן נטענו תאנים ורימונים ומהם גם לקחנו את השמות לבקתות: בקתת התאנה ובקתת הרימון. בחורף ובאביב הכל מלא פרחי בר, ובקיץ העצים שגדלו מאוד צובעים הכל בירוק. אנחנו משתדלים לפנק את האורחים בכל מיני דברים קטנים מתוצרת הבית: ריבות ממינים שונים של פרי, גבינות מחלב עיזים בעונה, שרי ברנדי, עראק ולימונצ'לו תוצרת הבית (רק תבקשו) וגם עוגיות חמאה נפלאות. השנה נשוב לעשות יין, ואם יצליח תוכלו להתכבד בו. לאחרונה בנינו תנור לעישון חם וקר של מאכלים שונים (בשר, דגים, גבינות, ירקות) ויש גם 'מטפונה' כלומר בור לבישול איטי על פחמים. ואפשר, למי שבא ליותר מלילה אחד, לחגוג.
ממתת, שהוא הישוב הראשון שהוקם בתוכנית המצפים בגליל יוצאים כמה שבילי טיול לסביבה הקרובה וביניהם שביל שמטפס להר אדיר (1008 מ' מעל פני הים) עם תצפית נהדרת לדרום לבנון ושביל לראש נחל בירנית שאפילו זורם קצת בחורף והוא מלא פרחים ופטריות בעונתן. נשמח להנחות ולהמליץ לחובבי הטיולים.
