Hofdi guesthouse was established in 2010 by two brothers, the house was originally built in 1895 but has since then been changed 2 times, first in the 1920s and again in the 1930s and the appearance of the house has been the same since then. The house has been in the family since 1944 but had been vacant for a few years, the house was renovated and made into a small beautiful guesthouse with 3 rooms, has room for 8 guests and has a fully equipped kitchen and a nice living room. The older style of the house was kept as much as possible during the renovation and the building style was also kept as much as possible. After researching the history of Husavik we found out that the house is the 4th oldest residential house in the area, so when you visit us please keep in mind that you are seeing and experiencing a small part of our beautiful town history.
There are great things to do, whalewatching, walking, hiking, horseback riding, snowmobile tours during the winter time, visiting our great museums, see one of the most beautiful churches in Iceland and more
The guesthouse is located near the center of town and is near the harbour, since Husavik is considered the whale watching capital of the world there is always something to see and experience at the harbour area. The surroundings are beautiful and you are within walking distance of all services. besides whalewatching there are more things Husavik can offer, there are 3 great museums to see, the church is one of the most beautiful buildins in Iceland, there is a natural hot spring near by, many great walking and hiking routes, horseback riding tours are available and if you are visiting during the winter time there is also a guided snowmobile tour availlable. so please visit us and have a great time in Husavik
