When I first came to Montecatini Val di Cecina, I understood the magnitude and divinity of nature. Something I didn't know, growing up and living in the Netherlands. It replenished, grounded, and sheltered me. I felt comforted there is something much bigger than us humans. Astor is a way for me to share that affluent feeling with many, as it has cradled and eventually healed me over time.

Cyclists and Hikers: The Montecatini area is becoming renown for expansive MTB trails starting from the village and exceptional Road Biking and Motorcycling over the endless rollercoaster hills of Tuscany. Astor facilities can store two bikes safely inside. Conveniences: 3 local markets, 2 restaurants, a cafe / bar, pharmacy, bank and post office, there is even a fashion outlet selling directly from fashion houses in Florence. Nearby: Vineyards, Hot Springs, Historic Monuments. The Etruscan city of Volterra is only 15 minutes away - as is Andrea Bocelli's “Teatro del Silenzio”. West coast beach fun and waterpark Acqua Village are a mere 30 minutes drive. The territory offers a truly vast choice of renowned Tuscan vineyards. The wine region of Bolgheri is a 40 minutes drive, Chianti is about 1 hour. There is an absolute abundance of gastronomic experiences, whether you’re in tune with traditional country cucina contadina or fine, Italian cuisine. Tuscan highlights like Pisa and Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca and Firenze are at a 1-1,5 hour distance from Astor. There are over a half-dozen natural Hot Springs ranging from posh wellness spas to raw natural forest waterfalls.
