Nearby: From BORGO DEL LAGO you can reach in just 10 minutes on foot the historic centre of Como and stroll through its cobbled streets, its shops, bars and restaurants, churches and pretty squares. In 15 minutes you can reach: Porta Torre, one of the historical entrances to the walled city; Piazza San Fedele, a pretty little square with the Romanesque basilica of the same name; Via Vittorio Emanuele, one of the most famous streets for shopping; Piazza Volta, very lively for aperitifs and after-dinner al fresco dining all year round; the famous Piazza Duomo, with its marvellous cathedral and its Broletto, both worth visiting.
