Founded in 1734, Odagaki Shoten is a long-established specialty store in Tamba Sasayama, Hyogo, dedicated to premium black soybeans. With a deep commitment to Tamba black soybeans and Tamba Dainagon adzuki beans, the company has worked closely with local farmers to refine and preserve these heirloom varieties—cultivated in the region for over 300 years through generations of careful selection. Rooted in harmony with nature, Odagaki Shoten continues to promote and pass on Japan’s black soybean culture, contributing to the local community in collaboration with producers, partners, and residents.

You will have exclusive access to the entire guest space, including the lounge, two connected living rooms, and a bedroom. The lounge, housed in a renovated Western-style building, retains original parquet flooring and stained-glass windows from the time of its construction. A complimentary mini-bar is available, offering local craft beer and soft drinks—an ideal setting for relaxing conversations with your companions. The second-floor bedroom features exposed beams from the original structure. Lying on the bed and gazing upward, you'll feel transported back in time, immersed in the atmosphere of the era in which the building was first constructed. For groups of three to five guests, futons will be laid out in the living room. Up to three bedrooms can be prepared upon request. Guests who book a plan with meals will be served a traditional Japanese course dinner. For children aged 3 to 9, we offer a specially prepared kids’ meal.

Tamba-Sasayama, located in eastern Hyogo Prefecture, is a historic castle town just an hour’s drive from Osaka (Itami) or Kobe Airport, with shuttle service from JR Sasayamaguchi Station. Known for Tamba-yaki pottery, visitors can tour kilns or try making their own ceramics. The area is also famous for black soybeans, Tamba chestnuts, wild boar, and seasonal specialties—especially in autumn. Cycling or hiking through its peaceful countryside adds to the charm, and English-friendly facilities are growing, making Tamba-Sasayama an inviting destination where tradition and nature meet.
