Ardeen Villa, in Ranna, Tangalle has direct access to the beach 30 meters away. Built on one acre of prime beachfront land it has 3 large 42 sqm bedrooms with AC and WIFI. The villa accommodates 6 guests, two in each room. which has a king bed. If required, an extra single bed or two can be added the family room at a cost of USD 40 per bed. The gardens are beautifully landscaped with a manicured lawn, fragrant frangipani, water lilies, mango and coconut trees and rare natural fauna and vegetation make it a hidden gem ensconced midst the serenity of nature. The lounge area provides a magnificent view of the ocean and pool. Meals can be taken indoors or outside in the cabana near the beach or in the cabana near the BBQ. The furniture is traditional teak wood with the walls adorned with original paintings of budding local artists. The staff quarters are 20 meters away on the premises. Breakfast, taxes and daily service is included in the villa rate. Guests staying for 7 nights get: (a) free airport pick up OR drop off travelling together (b) free wash only laundry service (c) option to buy own groceries using free services of chef to prepare personalized meals. The villa rate includes breakfast comprising western or local dishes which guests can order. Lunch or dinner is priced in the range of USD 11-14 and vegetarian, soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees, kids meals and deserts are priced in the USD 4-8 range. Guests requesting half board pay USD 10 per person per day and full board USD 20 per person per day which can be paid at time of departure at the villa. Guests unable to use their credit cards or make online wire transfers in USD are welcome to pay us on arrival in Euro dollar or USD or LKR cash notes. We accept USD, Euro dollar and LKR cash notes as well as Mastercard and Visa. The land boundaries of the property are securely fenced and CCTV has been installed to cover the area outside the villa boundaries. Tours and excursions are arranged.

We do not sell liquor but guests can bring their own supplies for consumption. No charge for corkage. We recommend you bring your own favorite spirits and wines as they might not be readily available as well as more expensive. Sri Lankan beer and Rockland Gin made in Sri Lanka are very popular with our guests, inexpensive and recommended. Our staff are friendly but always respect your privacy. We have a resident manager on site who is available to assist you with your needs. If you need assistance with transport to the many attractions in the area, we arrange it with outside transport owners with special rates which you can avail yourself of. For those who want to be active inhouse, volleyball, beachball, badminton, angling, kite flying, swimming, walking tours, cycling, boat rides, fishing trips, canoeing, card games and other kids games will keep you busy. A wash only laundry service is available. Guests do their own ironing. A charge of USD 50 cents per piece applies. The villa is like no other and the ambience indoors and outdoors is just great. You experience paradise staying here and appreciate the beauty and tranquility that nature has given us. During the high season from December to March, the ocean outside the villa is swimmable, though the sea could be rough on a couple of days when swimming should not undertaken. At other times of the year, unless the sea is calm swimming is not recommended.

For nature lovers there are many interesting places to visit. One can take a boat ride at the popular Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary 3 kilometres away, the natural habitat of over 60 species of birds. The Kahandamodara lagoon is 400 meters from the villa . Kayaking on the Rekawa lagoon 10 minutes away or visiting the turtle beach at dusk is a memorable experience. The area also has monkeys, rock squirrels, polecats, mongoose, moose deer and other small mammals. Day trips to the two largest and most famous game reserves, Yala and UdaWalawe can be undertaken from the villa. A drive to Yala takes 2 hours and Udawalawe 80 minutes where elephant, leopard, bear, deer, wild boar, crocodiles and other mammals and bird life can be sighted. The famous Bundala Bird Sanctuary is a 90 minute drive. Tours can be arranged to see the whales and dolphins in the ocean and the UNESCO listed Heritage City of Galle Fort within an hour's drive from the villa. There are a number of surf and swimming beaches nearby in Tangalle, Mawella, Polhena, Mirissa, Dikwella, Weligama and Ahangama where the stilt fishermen still practice the art of catching fish in the traditional way. On the way to Galle stop at Unawatunne beach to swim with the turtles. Boat rides and fishing trips for anglers are arranged at the Kalametiya Fisheries Harbour. The eighteen hole International Golf Resort is a 20 minute drive. Turtle beach is a 15 minute drive where turtles are seen laying their eggs on the beach. A day trip (2.5 hours) to the scenic hill town of Ella famous for its waterfalls, tea plantations, nine arches railway bridge, trekking to Little Adams Peak and exploring the mountains and rolling valleys is another highlight not to be missed. A tuk tuk tour around the villages will give you a glimpse of the traditional, simple, contented way of life of the village folk practicing Buddhism. Driver accommodation can be arranged with outside providers in the village for USD 5-8 per night.
