I am a biology teacher, married and engaged in many community and social actions, namely for the protection of the environment. I am very dedicated to the welfare of the local people and the community at large. I hold a master from a French University as well as from a British University. My favorite passion is handicraft, namely with local fibers, and drama. I had the opportunity to visit several countries over the years and am very keen to make friends and help in anyway if need be. Le Pandanus is a brand new property on the northern coast of Rodrigues where visitors can enjoy the sunset from their balcony. We are 15 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes to the capital, Port Mathurin. We are eco-friendly and most materials used for construction are local. Both inside and outside our rooms visitors will appreciate this blend of Rodriguan authenticity as well as modernity. The area is safe, clean and pleasant. All rooms have balcony with sea view, while privacy is guaranteed. The sea view offers the opportunity to enjoy the day to day dwelling of fishers in the immense blue lagoon. Guest are welcome with the warm Rodriguan tradition of simplicity and caring. We do all our best to make your stay memorable and provide assistance to allow visitors to discover the island, and enjoy the local cuisine from our restaurant. Our one-stop shop concept allows visitors to interact with local people, to discover the local handicraft from our shop and workshop and to enjoy other facilities such as billiard, karaoke as well as other entertainments and most importantly to discover the slow and peaceful Rodriguan life. Basically all facilities at other hotels are available.
Neighbourhood information
The neighborhood is safe, clean and calm. The local people are very pleasant and amicable. The environment is quite intact and we are lucky to have a very large lagoon. During the day one can discover the different sea activities of the local villagers as most are fishers. A few also practice traditional agriculture and in the village of Baie Malgache people of all walk of life live peacefully side by side, facilitating interaction and integration of visitors.
