Amparito Camp — Oceanfront Sanctuary in Santa Catalina, Panama
Amparito Camp is a private, one-acre oceanfront retreat designed for slow living, barefoot days, and simple luxury. Set on a remote stretch of coastline in Santa Catalina, the villa sits steps from the Pacific, surrounded by tropical trees, birdsong, and uninterrupted horizon.
The one-story home features organic cob walls, natural textures, and an easy indoor–outdoor flow. Two elevated loft bedrooms overlook the property, while the ground-level clubhouse opens directly to the pool and garden — perfect for gathering, cooking, or simply relaxing with the sound of the waves.
For guests seeking an even closer connection to nature, Amparito Camp also offers an oceanfront 3-meter canvas tent — a cozy, furnished room that sleeps up to two people. Set just above the shoreline, it lets you fall asleep to the tide and wake up with the early light. It’s ideal for couples, friends, or anyone who wants a more immersive, open-air experience without sacrificing comfort.
Created for travelers who want privacy, nature, and comfort, Amparito Camp welcomes up to six guests across the main house and tent. Whether you’re here to surf, read, disconnect, or host a sunset dinner, the space is designed to feel peaceful, personal, and deeply connected to the landscape.
Remote but well-loved by surfers, Santa Catalina offers world-class waves, boat access to Coiba National Park, and quiet, untouched beaches. At Amparito Camp you’re close to everything, yet wonderfully secluded.
Your stay includes:
• Private oceanfront villa (up to 6 guests)
• Oceanfront tent room for 2 guests
• Pool, gardens, and open-air clubhouse
• Full kitchen and relaxed social spaces
• Direct access to nature, beaches, and local adventure
• Ideal for retreats, day passes, and intimate gatherings
Amparito Camp is a place to unwind, recharge, and enjoy Panama
Hi, I’m Aci. I first acquired this oceanfront property in 1997, and after many years away, I returned in November of last year to finally bring this long-held dream to life. Amparito Camp is now a true family project, a slow and thoughtful build that will become a full surfers’ villa by mid-2026.
While the main house is being completed, I’m hosting guests in a large oceanfront tent and one cozy loft room. We share the living room, movie nights, dinners, the fire pit, smoothies, and even the occasional cocktail. It’s simple, relaxed living with the Pacific right in front of us.
I also help guests book surfing lessons, Coiba tours, fishing trips, and local adventures to make their stay as easy and memorable as possible.
I live nearby with my dog, Playa, and I’m here to make you feel welcome, comfortable, and at home in Santa Catalina.
Amparito Camp sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, an honest little hideaway surrounded by jungle, ocean breeze, and birdsong. The road is still dirt, which keeps the area relaxed, simple, and true to Santa Catalina’s spirit.
Everything is walkable from here. Town, cafés, small markets, and the surf at La Punta are all a short walk away, and most people love exploring the area on foot.
The neighborhood is very safe, with friendly, easygoing neighbors who are used to welcoming travelers, surfers, and families. It’s a peaceful corner of town where you can enjoy privacy, nature, and easy access to everything Santa Catalina offers.
