The most unique feature at our 16-acre property is that ALL of our guests have access to the lake. Regardless of which cottage type you may choose or area of the property you reside within, anyone staying at Single Island Shores can drive to the base of our hill where we have overflow parking and then walk down our stone steps to access the communal, lakefront sundeck, boat dock, and stone shoreline area. Feel free to bring along your fishing poles or your kayak to use right at the property. This expansive area on the water is available during daylight hours. For our guests' safety, we don't allow anyone on the deck/ dock area once complete darkness falls daily. We also have cottages to fit any group size with pull-out/ sleeper sofas available in any of our cottages. Our single-bedroom cottages can sleep up to 4 people each, while our double-bedroom cottages can sleep up to 6 people each, and our two chalets can sleep 12 - 14 people. Larger groups can gather together in side-by-side cottages. Please note: Only our smallest, single-bedroom option is available through third-party sites, like Booking. Other great features here are the private playground for guests only and the nature, walking path on the south side of our property that connects our Upper Lakeview section on the hilltop to the Lakeside section closer to the water. This walking path gives guests a nice, safe alternative from walking down to the lake on our main roadway.

I was born & raised in the Finger Lakes region. My hometown of Waverly is only 45minutes from Watkins Glen and Seneca Lake was our most common choice when wanting to get away for a day in the summers. I love this area so much that I've lived here my entire life, except for 5 years in Pittsburgh while earning my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business. I joined the Single Island Shores team in May of 2017 and am always amazed at how much the property has grown and improved in just the past few seasons. I love taking my son, Lachlan (meaning "From the Land of the Lakes") to all the great, nearby state parks and hiking the beautiful waterfalls. When with friends or family, I love visiting any number of the wineries and breweries that surround the property. My wish for all our guests is to fall in love with the Finger Lakes region of New York as much as I have over the years. Wine and Waterfalls are a plenty on the south end of Seneca Lake! Our property is in a lovely, rural location which is surrounded by farmland, vineyards, and residential/ family homes, making Single Island Shores secluded and quiet compared to many of the lodging options in the town of Watkins Glen. Although we are surrounded by nature and not located "in town", we are still very convenient to a multitude of wineries, breweries, restaurants, and activities. Within a 10-minute drive in either direction, you'll pass a state-run park, a restaurant, 2 breweries, 1 - 2 farmers' stands, and 6 - 7 wineries. Then just a mere 15-minute drive brings you into the town of Watkins Glen with many more shops, restaurants, ice cream stands, and activities. Our property is also only 25 minutes from Ithaca / Cayuga lake, 35 minutes from Geneva / Waterloo, 40 minutes from Corning & Hammonsport/ Keuka lake.
