The Safe Haven provides a forever loving home for pet primates who are surrendered for various reasons. Help us help the primates in our care by spending time at our self-catering facility which directly supports the primates in our care. The self-catering and self-service flatlet has a private garden and own entrance, best suited to a maximum of two adults and one child (accommodated on a daybed in the lounge). Besides the country atmosphere, enjoy the complimentary tea, coffee, rusks and milk as well as the free wi-fi and Netflix streaming option, with a solar system for basic electricity needs during loadshedding.

Pieter and Lisa-Anne van den Berg started an exotic primate sanctuary in September 2015 but fast outgrew their premises. In 2020 they moved to this Waterfall property which provided the much needed space for the primates in their care. The sanctuary continues to expand. Pieter works full-time in a voluntary capacity at the Safe Haven as Operations Manager and Chairman of the Board. He has a large heart for people and animals but is particularly gifted with working with primates. He is fondly known as the "Monkey Man". Lisa-Anne works full-time in the education sector and is passionate about growing and enabling people. Pieter and Lisa-Anne believe that we are all people of impact and are here to make a difference by utilizing the talents gifted to us.

Surrounded by many trees and greenness, with the closest beaches between 30-35kms away, the Waterfall neighbourhood is seen as a country retreat. Hillcrest, Forest Hills, Kloof and Botha's Hill are the neighbouring suburbs. The Valley of 1000 Hills is on our doorstep too. There is a large selection of many types of restaurants in the area. Many with lovely, outdoor facilities and dedicated children's play areas. Watercrest Mall, a short distance from the Safe Haven houses many stores - clothing, groceries, chemists, technology, jewellery, salons, books, stationery, restaurants and coffee shops, laundromat, auto-valet, as well as a Ster-Kinekor. Other attractions in the area are Phezulu Safari Park - approx 15 kms, uShaka Marine World - approx 39 kms, Nottingham Road (Midlands Meander) - approx 118 kms.
