Company information
Hi there, I'm Laura and I am the owner of Weaver's Nest.
I live onsite, on our beautiful 1,8 hectare property in the Sardinia Bay Conservancy.
I have a background in the natural sciences, but have been a stay at home mom to my 2 beautiful children for the past twenty years. I have a passion for family, hospitality, beauty and nature and my "Weaver's Nest" is the natural result and expression of this.
I love to create spaces and experiences that feel welcoming, beautiful, natural and luxurious, and att Weaver's Nest I try to add a touch of style and flair that complements but never overshadows the pure beauty of nature.
I love the beach, long walks, swimming in rock pools or sitting around a blazing fire at sunset. I adore the birds and animals indigenous to Sardinia Bay (and also my beloved pets!) and I am always on the look out for the likes of our resident Vervet Monkeys, Mongoose, bushbuck, duikers, owls, Knysna Loeries and Guinea Fowl to name but a few!
I enjoy meeting new and interesting people from both far and near and it is my joy is to share my little piece of paradise with them.
I would love to welcome you to Weaver's Nest!
Property information
Weaver's Nest is a hidden gem, a true sanctuary, right in heart of the beautiful Sardinia Bay Conservancy. Nestling into an ancient Milkwood tree, in a priva clearing in the bush, it transports you far from the chaos of city life and invites you to relax luxuriously in nature and tranquility.
Built on the foundations of an old labourer's cottage, Weaver's Nest was created with a conscious awareness of eco sustainability, and a commitment to protect the environment and conserve natural resources. With this in mind, we believe we have created a naturally rustic, yet luxurious space, that endeavours to showcase the magnificent art of nature.
Glass doors in the main bedroom and living area open out onto the deck, and large wrap-around windows in the upper loft bedroom, invite the outside in. In turn, the spacious outdoor areas blend seamlessly into the indoors and offer unique and luxurious experiences such as stargazing in a wood-fired hot tub or gathering around a roaring fire in the large fire pit on chilly evenings.
Weaver's nest is tastefully decorated throughout, in natural tones and textures, with accents of forest green and simple naturalist decor. A ladder style staircase leads up to the loft bedroom, the 'Treehouse Suite" This beautiful "nest" of a bedroom, which could equally double as a bird-hide, arguably offers the best view in the cottage.
At Weaver's Nest, snuggled up in luxuriously soft and comfortable queen beds, you can expect to fall asleep to the sound of hooting owls and awaken to the blissful of chatter of wild birds.
Because real life actually does exist, the truly unique draw card of Weaver's Nest is, that while it seems so well hidden from city life, it is in truth just a few minutes drive from some of Port Elizabeth's most popular local restaurants and malls, offering many interesting options to explore. Indeed, PE's top beach, Sardinia Bay Beach, lies within the conservancy and is only 3 km drive down the Sardina Bay road.
