We are so glad we decided to book this hotel because we didnt know Flores and thought that maybe not staying in Flores wasn't a good idea... but couldnt be more happy. Flores is caotic so having this oasis just a boat away for us was the best choice. We rested in a double room with two gigantic beds... swam in the pool, relaxed in the hotel and then they offer boat transfer to Flores at no cost. LUXURY TOTAL. But the best of the hotel is the staff. They are ALL VERY VERY KIND AND HELPFUL. There is also clothing cleaning at not cost.

El Hotel Casona del Lago se encuentra a orillas del lago Peten Itza, frente a la isla de Flores. El hotel tiene una excelente infraestructura: amplio, con una hermosa terraza y bar con vista al lago, una piscina muy bien mantenida y jacuzzi habilitado al atardecer. Aunque no está en Isla Flores, se llega fácilmente caminando, en tuctuc o bote. Para nosotros fue ideal, ya que ofrece tranquilidad, espacio y excelente servicio, pero cerca de todo. Es perfecto para descansar después de excursiones como Tikal o Yaxhá, con todas las comodidades: bar, restaurante, terrazas abiertas y cerradas, y piscina. A diferencia de la isla en la cual estuvimos un par de días alojados en un buen hotel, aquí se respira calma, sin el ruido ni el ajetreo del centro y con un excelente servicio e infraestructura.

The room had 3 queen beds and was very spacious. We fit my spouse, 2 daughters and father with plenty of room and did not feel crowded at all. The view from the balcony was very pretty. The included breakfast (for the 3 adults only) was delicious and traditional. They offered a shuttle to the airport and even though we had to get there a couple hours earlier, we appreciated the free ride and the driver was great! They also had a bar with great views and the entire hotel was very clean. If we are lucky to return to this area again, we will definitely stay here.
