This was a tastefully designed, classy yet friendly ryokan. My room was Japanese traditional with tatami floors. Every item in it was beautifully designed. My own private hinoki bath on the balcony had a breathtaking view of the hillside and stream below, and the entire time I enjoyed the sound of the water flowing. The food was very good, they served a beautiful kaiseki meal that went on forever (it seemed). At the cafe, they served their house blend coffee called Mori-no-coffee which I enjoyed while sitting in one of their comfy chairs with an art book on my lap. The staff was courteous and nice too, it was truly a perfect day.

We felt warmly welcomed, like being in a traditional Japanese inn, especially with the hot mineral springs in the two onsens available anytime. The homemade food was amazing! We would love to come back again soon.

Every need was addressed, they even left us a fresh apple juice in the fridge and a welcome note. Rooms were huge and the beds were really comfortable. The kids enjoyed playing with the toys 🧸 and to jump on the small trampoline outside.

The two people who ran the hotel were extremely nice and friendly, and their cats were also lovely to see. The area is very secluded and peaceful, very idyllic. The shuttle service between Yumoto-Onsen and the hotel was an absolute lifesaver.

Ikaho Syusuien está muy bien situado en el barrio de Ikaho Onsen, Shibukawa, a 46 km de Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, a 9 min a pie de Ishidan-gai Steps y a 400 metros de Ikaho Ropeway. Excellent hotel. Great place. Excellent onsen. Really recommend everyone...
