A traditional home situated in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes away from train station. There’s a communal kitchen and living room for use as well as a private onsen that you can reserve. Hiro, the host, is very accommodating and will provide rides when needed. His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

We were expecting a fine hotel experience for our trip to Nikko but experienced so much more at the Ritz Carlton. Elevated, serene, beautiful facilities and accommodations along with one superlative food experience, made for one of our favorite stays anywhere, ever. Both of our rooms were wonderful, but the suite was just wonderful. All of the food was very good during our stay, but our omakase experience - our favorite sushi ever and one of our favorite meals ever. (For what it's worth, I have never used 'ever' so often in a review) Consistently friendly, helpful staff as well. This is a unique and special place and I fully expect that we'll retreat here again on future trips to Tokyo.

It was the best sleep in 5 weeks in Japan, the outdoors private thermal bath was excellent, the food was beautiful, they accomadated me being vegetarian. The onsens were great, outdoor ones being hotter than indoors. The national park it's in is beautiful. The staff are amazing, just delightful.

Homey place with such a nice host that did all she could do to make us feel comfortable. Huge tasty breakfast, relaxing tatami room, and quite green surroundings. Great place!

A wonderfully authentic traditional ryokan with spacious, comfortable rooms and beautiful river views. The public onsen was perfect—hot, clean, and peaceful with great natural scenery. Dinner was a delightful kaiseki experience with impressive presentation and thoughtful local dishes. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making the stay truly special. The setting with a charming rope suspension bridge adds to the unique atmosphere. A perfect getaway for onsen lovers seeking relaxation with excellent hospitality. Highly recommended. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. Spacious and clean rooms with everything you need for a relaxing and convenient stay. Kids will enjoy the rock climbing facilities and the ladder and stairs to the attic. Other games include Uno, cards, and the tumbling tower. Extra mattresses and blankets are available. Should be quiet after 9 pm. Highly recommended to everyone, especially groups with kids.

The villa has an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub. Everything was absolutely perfect! The villa was spotless, beautifully designed, and fully equipped with thoughtful touches. They even welcomed us with fresh fruits and premium A5 wagyu, which was such a lovely surprise. The BBQ setup had everything we could possibly need from charcoal and safety gloves to multiple types of tongs. The jacuzzi instructions were easy to follow, and the cute bath bombs made the experience extra relaxing. The view was stunning, and the location was very convenient just a short drive from Shinkyo Bridge and other main attractions in Nikko. Truly the best villa I've ever stayed at!

The hotel has family rooms. Grate experience in Nikko if you are looking for a bit of a remote area. Beautiful and quiet environment. The Onsen in the hotel is amazing, especially the private one! The food was exceptional, such an experience really recommended to book the dinner plan. Very not touristic in the best way, hart to find in Japan.
