Absolutely wonderful property in Anuradhapura. Clean and modern and a lovely spot to relax by the plunge pool. Also had a washing machine available to use which was a massive bonus! Very yummy Sri Lankan breakfasts each morning and we also had dinner one night there which was equally delicious! De Silva also provided great recommendations for tour guides around Anuradhapura. Would 100% stay here again!

He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

If you stay a week or more a kitchen can be used. Every day around 18.00 hours you can see elephants quite nearby at one of the thee lakes. 2 or 3 or 6. Very exiting. They come to drink water. I really appreciated how well the air conditioning worked. Dining Delights & Pristine Pool For dinner, we were able to enjoy dishes from the owner's restaurant right on the hotel terrace – it was truly luxurious and delicious. The next morning, breakfast was equally impressive with such a wide variety that we couldn't even try everything, and it was all very tasty. The pool was kept perfectly clean by the staff, who cleared leaves daily. I wish I hadn't been injured so I could've taken a dip! Cleanliness & Comfort Our room was spotless, and it was fantastic not to find any insects inside or on the terrace. Plus, shampoo and soap amenities were provided. My stay was wonderful, and this is definitely the hotel I'll choose on my next visit to Sri Lanka. Thank you!
