Fantastic private location right on the waterfront but only 5 minutes drive from the wharf and town. Incredible view. Fabulous chalet ("chalet" doesn't do it justice, perfect for those who appreciate 70's/80's architecture with high ceilings and 45 degree angles. The 12-year-old called it "awesome" and said he wanted to live there forever). Two large bedrooms each with a huge ensuite, big well-equipped kitchen and convenient in-chalet laundry. Amazing outlook from large windows in all the rooms. Thoughtfully furnished. Lovely gardens and expansive balconies. A pool house which we didn't use, but good advice from the hosts on the best hot baths in town. Really helpful communication from the hosts, timely and upbeat, nothing too much trouble.

Just 300 metres from the lakefront of Waipahihi Bay, Little Haven offers an outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub. The self-contained apartments feature a fully equipped kitchen and a flat-screen TV. The owner was lovely and gave some good recommendations. Shower was amazing and the room had everything we needed for 1 night.

Located on the shores of Lake Taupo, Anchorage Resort offers rooms with free unlimited WiFi access and views of either the pool or the lake. Very friendly and helpful owners. Spacious rooms and heated pools were a bonus

The Reef Resort Motel offers self-contained accommodation on the edge of the Lake Taupo. The property features an outdoor heated freshwater pool and a thermal pool with a hot tub. Clean. Great views. Good facilities and accommodating staff

We didn't use the spa but it looked amazing. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they provided a booklet of recommendations which was appreciated.

Clean, well equipped, comfy and warm! We LOVED everything about this home. Was so hard for us to leave this home made us feel so much at home. I could go on and on about how amazing our stay was but we will most definitely be booking again in the near future.
