Once hailed as the ‘Impregnable Castle of Bohemia’, this Gothic-style fortress has defeated many an enemy with its thick stone walls. One of the oldest castles in the Czech Republic, it is now open to all in the form of a museum. Visitors can see the remains of a Romanesque rotunda, stroll through the impressive ceremonial hall, and even witness the gory ‘chamber of torture’.
