In answer to the two questions featured in this review panel. We did take breakfast in the room and it was excellent and all included in the price. Extensive food menu offered. Superb excellent location right up close to the golden temple and good local amenities. Hotel staff always went above and beyond and very friendly. Peaceful relaxing stay. Outstanding good value for money. We stayed for seven nights. Laundry service reasonably priced.

The staff really went out of their ways to make me feel comfortable. They were always available for me if I had questions or needed something arranged. They gave me lots of recommendations for Amritsar. They were most helpful and so accommodating. Great location too. I loved that my room had Netflix so I could unwind in the evening. Can highly recommend this stay. I will come back.

the staff were outstanding. they could not do enough for us. We requested a late checkout as we had a late afternoon flight, and this was provided without any issue. I had a massage at the spa, and it was outstanding!

The Jallianwala Bagh has been made into a an excellent...

The Jallianwala Bagh has been made into a an excellent showcase of the tragedy that befell here and its been portrayed poignantly by encapsulating the history around it. Luckily, its a large area and allows you walk around, listen and read at your own pace. The downside of the memorial are our very own Indian tourists who clearly have no understanding of what the history is and the related tragedy here and have made this a selfie ground - selfies in front of the bullet holes on walls that have been preserved, selfies everywhere. It would be nice if the government actually ran this as group tours with fixed number of people like they do in places like Auschwitz, where history can be learned and mood and tone of the place maintained rather this being treated like a holiday with children running amok, babies wailing and everyone else taking selfies. It was sad to see how selfies have triumphed any and all attempts at educating the new age public in what was a turning point in the India's struggle for freedom.

The front desk was very responsive and guided us in each movement. Arranged vehicles for Wagah Border trip, local trips and early morning railway station dropping at a very concessional rate. The location of the hotel was only 500m away from the golden temple, which made the accessibility very easy, also other prime locations like Jallianwala Bagh, Partition Museum, Town Hall and famous food joins like brothers are all reachable within walking distance

Hotel 5 minutes walk from golden temple and 4 minutes walk from Jallianwala bagh. Location is good. Restaurants and auto stand is nearby. Hotel guys also booked us a cab at nominal rates for attari -wagah border evening beating retreat show. We booked a family room having three queen size beds. Cleanliness was good. One can stay at this hostel if he desires to visit golden temple.

It is not 2 minutes from Golden Temple..It is about 10 min by Toto.By walking half an hour..They put up another room food bill toy account and made my check out delayed. Maximum rooms are windowless.Only superior rooms have windows.Bathroom doors are sliding , wooden and heavy are not moving easily. However it is pleasant to stay but you can get more hotels nearby Golden Temple and Jallianwala bagh.

Excellent Food and stay. We had both breakfast and dinner during our 3 nights stay at the hotel and it was really good. A little more variety can be added though. There is always some scope for improvements. Behaviour of staff were at their best, very polite and courteous. Free pick up and drop to Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh is the best arrangement this hotel has and its very convenient for first timers in the city.

The hotel is in a perfect location close to the Golden Temple Jallianwala Bagh and Partition Museum. Avijit the owner was extremely friendly and helpful giving us lots of useful information and sorting out taxis to the Wagah Border Closing Ceremony and to the airport on our final morning. He also cooked us a delicious meal on our final evening. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel's location is extremely convenient, as the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh were both within walking distance. The rooms were clean, and well-maintained. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous. They also arranged for cars to take us to the Wagah border and dropped us off at the airport early in the morning. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel BlackWood, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amritsar.

The hotel is in the heart of Amritsar. The Golden Temple is about 15 minutes away by rickshaw, as are Jallianwala Bagh, Partition Museum and the Gobindgarh fort. The Attari-Wagah border is about 40 kilometres away, as it is from anywhere in the city, so no disadvantage there either.
