We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Monastero Sant’Andrea in Assisi. Our bedrooms were simple and clean with a very comfortable bed and pillows and a good shower. Plus we had a fantastic view of The Basilica of St. Francis. Breakfast was simple, but adequate. The staff were very kind and friendly. The hotel has a chapel where you can pray and an elevator. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fabulous property at the base of the village of Assisi. If you are not physically fit he would probably want to have a car drive you up but if you’re up for an adventure it takes about 15 minutes. The property is stunning in every way and the food at the restaurant was some of the best we had in Italy

The spa is over the top. My husband had a massage and loved it. The breakfast was very good, and it’s also very close to a great pizza place. Assisi is a very special place, unspoiled. This property is within walking distance of the city center and many shops. The development of this historic property is of the highest quality. Go.

such a spiritually rich building and it left a lifelong mark...

such a spiritually rich building and it left a lifelong mark when after a late dinner, I popped in again to see if I could feel into the spiritual vibe of the place. To my delight at 9:30pm at night I wandered into the place where Saint Francis was buried, I had walked a pilgrimage known as 'The Way of St Francis southern route to Assisi. I was part of a liturgy and then a walk to touch and feel the tomb area of Saint Francis. It was surreal walking out at 10:00pm at night and back to my accomodation feeling so alive and spiritually full.

If you want to see the paintings (Giotto, P Lorenzetti,...

If you want to see the paintings (Giotto, P Lorenzetti, Cimabue, S Martini) in the Lower Basilica it is worth checking for service times as the church is closed for tourism. In winter 2024-25 the only substantial free time is between 1 pm and 4 pm and also 8-10:30 weekday. There are far less services in the Upper Church (Giotto cycle).

The location was excellent - about half way between the Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi and the large Mojano parking lot with elevators and escalators to the Basilica di Santa Chiara. The room size was good with plenty of space for clothes. The selections for breakfast were not great but more than adequate. Breakfast is not scheduled to start until 8:30 AM (but is open as of 8:00 AM), which is a little bit of a problem if you want to get an early start on the day. The staff was most helpful and courteous.

Everything about this stay was great. The breakfast was very good. The building was lovely and the room was perfect. We had a view of Assisi and Basilica di San Francesco, it was amazing. The Hostess was very welcoming, warm, nice, and friendly. It was lovely.

Incredible gem of a property, a favorite stay on our trip. The kind of place you take pictures/videos to send to friends because it feels unreal (especially for it’s price). A spacious one bedroom cottage to yourself with a view of the surrounding countryside from the garden out front. Just a few steps from the Basilica di San Francesco d'Assisi. Feels like a home away from home.
