This imposing fortress was called home by the prince-bishops of Trento during the Middle Ages. It consists of a 12th-century castle and an ornate Renaissance section – both of which are equally impressive in their own ways. But the main draw here is the Ciclo dei Mesi, a series of frescoes by an unknown Bohemian painter that depict medieval life month by month.
