I have found that the pictures or descriptions are generally less than than how they were described. This time, we were happily surprised to find that the Sonora really was as they described it. We really enjoyed being there.

This is in the most stunning location and all the lodges are surrounded by beautiful trees and plants. The path entering onto the beach is magical. We came by bus and enjoyed using the bikes to explore the area. (Bring your own bike lights!) We had the suite and loved the cosy kitchen as a place to be in the evening. Kitchen was very well equipped, it even had a teapot which we really appreciated! For the carless - local restaurant 'Selvin' is a few minutes walk away and is really good, but it is only open Thursday-Sunday. Other places you need to walk at least 1/2 hour or bike or TukTuk. Very lovely and helpful Nicole, the onsite manager, as well as the smiling gardener who brought us coconut water, grapefruits and bananas. Will carry on dreaming about this place and hope to return!

Our host, he was great and friendly and showed us around the garden and helped us spot a couple snakes, sloth and other creatures. The garden was stunning. He also cooked us up a yummy breakfast. For me the area was great with a car, it's an hour walk from the town along the beach. A bit out the way without a car.

Playa Negra Guesthouse is located in Cahuita, right in front of the beach. All units feature a seating area. Some units have a terrace and/or balcony with pool or garden views.

I would give this guesthouse 7 stars if that were possible. The staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. The grounds are a tropical paradise full of birds, butterflies & other wildlife. The rooms are clean & comfortable surrounded by the beautiful gardens.

Everything was great! Nice place with quiet scene! We have a luck and meet the owners - very kind people! I really recommend this accomodation in Costa Rica.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, bungalow was so unique, clean and well kept. Obviously it was a bit noisy because it’s in the jungle, but to be expected, and such a unique experience. Food was really good, would definitely recommend.

Great location , loats of wildlife just in premises, very close to everithing , walking distance to the beach. Good vakue for money.
