Norem, Esteban and Valeria made us feel at home right away and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast and dinner (with the hummingbirds around) were delicious, prepared to the point and with several dishes to choose from. The cabins are all new, very well designed and furnished, the bathroom with steady and immediate hot and cold water supply. A garden with a small trail are in the making and will make spending time in the crisp and clean mountain air even more worthwhile. We can highly recommend Curuba Lodge which became our favorite place in Costa Rica! Tip: Esteban can connect you with a few guides to see the rare and iconic Quetzal birds.

Our stay in this beautiful corner of paradise was simply perfect! The wooden cabins, nestled in nature, offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The view of the mountains is breathtaking, truly a spectacle at any time of day. We really appreciated the tranquility of the place. A big thank you to the staff and especially to the lovely grandmother who delighted us every morning with giant breakfasts, made with love and local products. A gesture that made our stay even more special! We absolutely recommend this place to anyone seeking peace, nature, and an authentic, unforgettable experience.

Το Trogon Lodge απέχει 1,5χλμ. από το κέντρο της πόλης San Gerardo de Dota και 9χλμ. από το Εθνικό Πάρκο Los Quetzales. Διαθέτει μεγάλο κήπο, βεράντα και εγκαταστάσεις μπάρμπεκιου. The hotel is very special. We had our own cosy lodge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As it can be a bit cold at night, we even had hot-water bottles. There is also a heater. In the spacious area of the Trogon Lodge, there is very much to see, for example different species of plants and animals like humming birds, lizards and even Quatzals. The lodge does also offer a shorter and a longer exciting hiking track in the cloud forest. We booked a Quetzal watching tour in the morning and really saw about 5 Quetzals.

The comfort of this boutique hotel is unsurpassed by anywhere i have ever stayed. It truly feels like home.

Large size room with ample space for up to 3 adults (our party consisted of only two adults). Considering that the nights get quite cold in this area, the room kept a reasonable temperature over night, with thick blankets provided. Reasonably warm water for a good morning shower (which is a big plus, since it is not always the case in other properties in the area). Pleasant environment with nice staff members (family run place). Possibility to eat in the restaurant whereby the trout comes fresh from the fish pond.

Every detail, from architecture to hospitality is beautifully arranged. You're nestled in the mountains and the views are wonderful. The pool is excellent. We loved the fascinating tour of the vanilla plantation and the strenuous but totally rewarding walk to the waterfall.
