The Lodges at Kilkea Castle

Situated in the countryside of County Kildare The Lodges at Kilkea Castle is set in 180 acres of its own woodland and gardens. A 12th-century castle, Kilkea Castle is one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland with a history dating back to 1180. Designated parking is available. Our lodge was very big and so calm with a view to the woods, which was very calming during our stay. The bed was very comfy, we also received a baby cot, the kitchen had more to offer than expected. The castle and its ambiance are charming, lots of green and very calm in general. The personal was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included in the price and it left nothing to be desired. The breakfast room is in the castle itself, which let us feel the castle, too, although we stayed in the lodge. The lodge was clean. The blanket was very useful in the cold morning. The lodges are quite near to the castle (it looks further afar in the pictures).

The location was brilliant and the members of staff were very efficient and helpful without being intrusion. The bar food in the clubhouse was excellent. Everywhere was very clean and tidy, inside and outside. The lodges are done to a high standard.

Beautiful Castle, decorated to a very high standard. We stayed in the lodges which were very comfortable and spotless. Staff were very friendly. We had a lovely breakfast in the Castle and dinner at the golf club was fabulous.

Castle was amazing,lodges were spotless clean and had good facilities, had the use if the thermal suit too,staff were so friendly and went out of there way to do what they could to make our stay more comfortable
